Goldy's Spoon Challenge

In steel bending, challenges often present themselves as a result of curiosity and experimentation. Bend Sport Canada's creator, Josh Goldthorp, watched a famous strongman twist a large dinner spoon around using two towels for leverage and hand protection. He made this feat seem hard when, in fact, it was nothing more than a trick to impress the uninformed. Josh then thought that this "trick" should actually be made into an odd but respectable strength feat. So he spent a few workouts figuring out if it was actually possible to twist the head of a spoon using nothing but your bare hands. The short answer is yes it can be done, however it is much harder than he anticipated which was perfect because it presented itself as the challenge that he was looking for.

We at Bend Sport Canada would like to introduce you to "Goldy's Spoon Challenge". An odd yet very difficult challenge to complete. If you'd truly like to challenge the toughness of your hands this test is for you! The spoons used in our challenge are straight steel. No weak designs or flaws to take advantage of.

Rules:

1.) The "Goldy Spoon" being used must be one purchased from Bend Sport Canada.

2.) The feat must be done with bare hands. Powdered chalk is allowed. No other substances may be used. Rings, wraps, bandages and all other forms of protection must be removed prior to the attempt.

3.) The spoon must be maintainted in it's original horozontal/straight position. No bending the spoon into a "L", twisting it, and then bending it back to a straight position. The only movement is the twisting of the head of the spoon.

4.) In order for the challenge to be considered complete the head of the spoon must be spun a full 180 degrees from it's original position. Once the bend is complete the spoon must be placed on a flat surface so the judges can see that the spoon has been spun 180 °. We will be fair in judgement.

5.) 1 minute time limit.
